THE HAUNTED Frontman: 'I'm Pretty Much Alright Considering The Background'
September 7, 2006THE HAUNTED frontman Peter Dolving has posted the following message on his official MySpace page:
"I'm going through a serious nightmare ride right now, but it's good. I'm enjoying it in way I never thought I would.
"Here's what I'm doing. I go to NA meetings just about daily, I'm writing about my past (stuff that's not even suitable for this blog) and going to an acupuncturer for releasing physical pain AND unblocking sorrow, pain and shame.
"Holy shit! The stuff I'm remembering. The stuff I've done! The stuff that's been done to me. The stuff I've seen. I've figured as much out — I am not all bad, hey, I'm pretty much alright considering the background. I feel like I'm ten years old again. I feel like doing backflips and I thinks I might just learn how. I miss a bunch of my touring friends and I'm looking forward to seeing you all when we head out again this winter. Right now I just gotta make sure to hook up masseurs, acupuncture people and NA meetings for the routing instead of chewing vicodins, sleep aids, somas and smoking/drinking 4-5 grams of hasch per day. Thing is I feel like I missed so much in shutting so much of me down over these years.
"Fuck, I started drinking when I was 11. I've been doing opiates and benzos for 20 years. Dig that shit! I am so fucking lucky to not have speach disfunctions, still have most of my teeth and actually NOT have hepatitis and HIV. Fucking hell, my mom was the bearded hepatitis lady from hell when she croaked this winter and my dad is an overweight swiss cheese soaked in Everclear, most of the people I've loved are dead or plain nutcases.
"Me — I've two kool little kids, a hot wife who seems to actually like me, I'm in two kool bands, I'm getting new friends as I go AND I have no clue where all this leads. I do know this, I'm worth taking care of, 'cause I actually know how to do stuff that I get a kick from. By the way, the totempole is taking shape, I'll post pictures soon.
"Now, I gotta go make something to eat."
Due on October 31 via Century Media Records, THE HAUNTED's new album, "The Dead Eye", will be released in three different formats: standard jewel case CD, limited-edition CD with a bonus DVD, and an LP version. The limited-edition version of "The Dead Eye" will include a special O-Card packaging, two audio bonus tracks as well as a bonus DVD with a 'making of" documentary, video clips and two live recordings. The band's highly anticipated new effort was recorded in Denmark at PUK studios (drums) and Antfarm Studios with renowned producer Tue Madsen (SICK OF IT ALL, HIMSA, HEAVEN SHALL BURN).
